De herkomst aangaande dit Koerdische volk kan zijn ook niet helemaal duidelijk. Ze zouden afstammen aangaande verscheidene stammen die al sinds duizenden jaren in een landstreek Koerdistan wonen, de streek waar de huidige Koerden wonen.
